Lol I’m a Soren. That’s…amusing.
I liked him the most when I first started playing PoR because he’s the kind of person that I wanted to be: calm and level-headed, and relied upon to make rational and good-for-the-group decisions. As the game revealed more about him I realized how damaged he is, and although I still related to his cynical side I did not want to emulate him.
Soren removes emotion from his decisions to the point that some of his suggestions to the mercenary company seem completely amoral. It’s been a while since I played either PoR or RD, but I remember being tempted to think that Soren really is amoral, and that Ike is the only thing keeping him on the good side of the edge he walks. I wanted to think of Soren as a bad person who just happened to be devoted to a good person (Ike), and thus was pushed towards a good cause. Nowadays I don’t think that that’s the case.
If Soren engages Petrine on the Great Bridge in PoR, she talks about how they are not so different from each other (she’s talking about how they’re both Branded, but I like to extrapolate). Soren gives a cool reply: “The same? Don’t be ridiculous. I’m nothing like you. You kill for sport, and hide your fear behind a wall of bravado.”
It’s nice to think that someone like Soren, who was abused and ignored and pushed to the limit for most of his life, can stick to his morals and fight for a world that has done almost nothing but punish him.
Of course, I know nothing of what that kind of life would be like. That being said, sometimes I feel like I could be much worse of a person than I am. I feel like it wouldn’t take much for me to turn into a total bitch, someone who judges on the spot and manipulates people. At times like that I’m just grateful that I turned out the way I did.
I’m not even sure why this rant started, so I’m just gonna let you people enjoy your evening.
:/
In case you’re curious about your MBTI type, there’s a quick test you could take here or here (the second test decides your type based on cognitive processes and is therefore different from most MBTI assessments). Feel free to reblog this post with your own…
Volke? really? but he’s not even nice… you have to practically bribe him to do everything lol.
Elincia. Therefore, I’m pretty, and I’m royalty. And paired with Ike. XD
Damn, if someone gets ISFJ, we’re getting married, right now.
I was leaving my Mandarin final that got out late because we’re apparently bad at time, and walking to my truck (which, I’m gonna say now is fairly memorable, to avoid creepiness later.)
Well, in one of my other classes there’s a really cool senior girl who I talk to on a regular basis. She’s been amazingly helpful in giving me the ins and outs of pretty much the entire behavioral sciences department. Aka, which professors to talk to, which ones to avoid, hard classes, easy classes, so on and so forth. (We were talking about a test one day, and she just kind of spews this information, and I’m like, holy hells let me take notes this is a gold mine.) We’ll talk about assignments and tests and stuff, and we get along well because we’re pretty similar. Both fairly outspoken and critical, and extremely good at lying and talking ourselves out of anything. (I feel, basically, like I had found a Slytherin big sister)
All that said, we’re not incredibly friendly. Smile/wave/hug if we see each other, but we both leave at the same time, so when we run into each other in the parking lot we’ll occasionally chat for a few minutes.
Well, today, since I was late, she had apparently waited around for me, and when I didn’t show she left me a note on my mirror:
And I thought it was really nice of her. So, thought I’d share something cute that happened today.
Two things: one, you should get a “Fairly Memorable” bumper sticker. That is the best damn description of Roranicus ever. Also, that story is adorable.
I feel like that bumper sticker would be great.
And what the hell do you mean by #Shippin it ?
You mentioned a sweet senior girl and I immediately started shipping it. Sorry. :P
I’m pretty sure that Sassy’s getting kind of jealous that someone other than her is getting shipped with Admiral. ;P
Day 8: Ghost
Pokemon: Misdreavus
Gen: 2nd
Reason: I’ve never understood why I like Misdreavus. I hate her evolution, and I’ve never used her. Then again, I never use ghost-types. XD
